To ensure that our people in the organization are properly equipped and are competent to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Operator expects individuals to ensure that their personal goals and objectives are aligned with OMS and EHS targets. Individual are responsible for the success of OMS Management ensures that adequate systems and resources are in place to implement and maintain OMS expectations.

Please note that the acronym EHS and MS stand for Environmental, Health and Safety and Management System respectively.

2.1 Organization, Roles, Responsibilities and Resources

2.1.1 Is the organization defined and responsibilities clearly identified, including job descriptions that list EHS MS responsibilities and authorities?
2.1.2 Are adequate systems and resources in place to implement and maintain EHS MS and ensure success?
2.1.3 Are individuals responsible for the success of and compliance with EHS MS?
2.1.4 Are individual goals and objectives aligned with EHS MS?

2.2 Training and Competence

2.2.1 Are training and competency requirements defined to ensure personnel can complete their assigned duties and responsibilities in a safe and environmentally sound manner?
2.2.2 Are training processes established to assess employee knowledge, skill set against job requirements, and training effectiveness?
2.2.3 Is there a training matrix to define minimum training and competency requirements for all key personnel?
2.2.4 Are relationship based safety training programs that show true care and concern for individuals implemented? Are they intended to improve EHS awareness and culture, establish personal responsibility for safety, provide clear authority for stop work, and reduce the frequency and severity of incidents?
2.2.5 Is initial, ongoing and periodic refresher training provided to assure employee competence and achieve operational excellence?
2.2.6 Are lessons learned communicate throughout the organization and incorporated into training courses and material to improve organizational performance?
